1. These terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of A* Science (https://astarscience.vercel.app), an online learning platform operated by the operator of A* Science. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you and must be the one to make any purchase.

2. The service

A* Science provides an illustrated online course for IGCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, including lessons, practice questions, checkpoints and progress tracking. The service is a study aid: it does not award qualifications, is not affiliated with or endorsed by any examination board, and — while it is designed to support effective learning — no specific grade or exam outcome is promised or guaranteed.

3. Accounts

Where account sign-in is offered, you are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You must not share your account so that multiple students use one membership, and you must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Memberships and billing

Paid access is offered as a 6-month membership and a 12-month membership. Both unlock the same complete platform. Memberships are recurring: unless cancelled before the renewal date, 6-month access renews every 6 months and 12-month access renews every 12 months at the then-current standard price. The exact amount you will be charged, including any promotional discount, is always shown at checkout before you pay. Promotional prices apply to the billing period(s) stated in the promotion; renewals are at the standard price. Payments are processed by Stripe.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your membership at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including any statutory cancellation or refund rights that apply to digital services in your country. To cancel or ask about a refund, use the billing management options in your account where available, or contact support.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: copy, scrape, resell or redistribute course content; share account access beyond your household student; attempt to bypass payment or access controls; interfere with the operation or security of the service; or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Intellectual property

All course content — lessons, questions, illustrations, characters (including Star and the Study Buddies), design and software — belongs to the operator of A* Science or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property law. Your membership grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own study while your access is active.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and improving, and course content is updated and extended over time. We may modify features or content, and occasional downtime for maintenance may occur. If we ever discontinue the service during a period you have paid for, you will be offered a proportionate remedy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator of A* Science is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, and our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid for your current membership period. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for serious or repeated breach of these terms. You may stop using the service at any time; section 5 explains how cancellation and paid periods work.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and forms part of these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of A* Science is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
